Caption: Khimsar, Rajasthan, India - Apr 2003. Tribal children outside their traditional mud and thatched roof house in Khimsar, Rajasthan. Cool in summer and warm in winter, Rajasthan's earth houses protect their inhabitants from the soaring and plummeting temperatures in the Thar Desert. Rajasthan is made up of several nomadic tribes, many which still live traditional liefstyles, or part of. Vividly clad in contrast to the bleak desert sands, older members of the tribes can still be distinguished by their dress and jewlery, although the younger generation are more likely to wear western influenced clothes.
