Air Force Gen. Joseph L. Lengyel, Chief of the National Guard Bureau, awarded Adjutant General, Army Maj. Gen. Robert E. Livingston, Jr., the outgoing adjutant general, with the Distinguished Service Medal during a change of command ceremony at McEntire Joint National Guard Base in Eastover, South Carolina, Feb. 16, 2019. The ceremony welcomed Army Maj. Gen. Van McCarty as the 29th adjutant general of South Carolina who served recently as the Deputy Adjutant General.
