Thework of the state association is under the direc-tion of an executive committee of fifteen mem-bers who meet three times a year. The state is divided into twenty dis-tricts, each under the charge of a president who is ex-officio a vice-president of the state association. Every one of the 102 counties has aliving organization, evidenced by the holding of an annual field workers are employed. There are 1,579 townships and pre-cincts in the state, most of which have township organizations, underwhose auspices more than 1,670 conventions were held last year. Special features of the work in Illinois are: Thoroughness of organiza-tion; the visitation of each school by the township president, and efficientnormal work under the direction of a competent superintendent.
