St. Botolph Building, London, United Kingdom. Architect: Grimshaw, 2010. Tighter view from St. Botolph Street.

The brief for the St Botolph Building called for a landmark building of significant architectural merit on a site that forms a key gateway to the City of London. Located in the EC3 insurance district, a short walk from the Lloyd’s Building and the busy terminus of Liverpool Street, it is ideally located for business in the heart of the city. Grimshaw’s design creates a highly adaptable commercial building for developers Minerva. The upper 11 floors house high specification offices, while the first and second levels provide more flexible office space with the potential to become dealing floors. The lower ground floors accommodate multi-functional space and retail outlets. The Grimshaw building contains over 550,000 sq ft of lettable space, making it a highly efficient and economical investment property for the developer.
