Visitors tour the 5 Boro Green Roof Garden on the roof of the NYC Parks and Recreation Dept. administration building on Randall's Island in New York is seen on Friday, August 20, 2010. Started in 2007 the roof is now 26,000 square feet with 22 distinct systems and is the fourth largest green roof in New York. Following the success of this green roof, which has lowered energy costs for the building, the Parks Dept. will be installing green roofs on 10 recreation center throughout the city. (© Richard B.
