A gold-inlaid Persian kard Circa 1800. Sturdy blade with chiselled back, of Wootz Damascus with gold-inlaid lion and antelope on both sides of the base of the blade. Ferrule and grip frame profusely decorated with Persian script negatively inlaid in gold. Brass-backed, intact grip scales of crystalline walrus ivory. Beautiful, well preserved kard with minimal flaws of the gold inlays.
