Inboth there are two V-shaped perforationsclose together, and formed in the body ofthe ring by drilling two converging can be little doubt that the ring andstud together formed some sort of clasp orfastening, but in what manner the stringwhich passed through the perforation wasmanaged it is difficult to say. A very highly ornamented jet ring of thisclass, square in section, and with a sort ofbead at each angle, the two faces and periphery engraved with fine raisedlines, and with three perforations as if for suspension, has been engravedin the Crania Britannica.
