When 2 or 3 inches high, transplant into gcwd ground or thin out to 1 foot ajiart. When nearly full grown, and before they are fit for the table, they must be bleached. This is done liy gailiering the leaves together and tying with yarn or bass, to ex- clude the light and .iir from the inner leaves, which must be done when quite dry, or ihey will ret. Another method is to cover the plants with boards or slats. In three or four weeks they will be blanched. Green Curled Winter.
