SINGLE-END PAY-WITHIN CARS FOR CITY RAILWAYCOMPANY, DAYTON The City Railway Company, Dayton, Ohio, has recentlyplaced in service ten double-truck, single-end, pay-withincars of the design shown in the accompanying exterior andinterior views. The cars were built by the Cincinnati CarCompany. Their principal dimensions are as follows:Length over the corner posts, 32 ft. % in.; length over the. Arch-Roof Car for Dayton, Ohio bumpers, 43 ft. 3 in.; length of the platforms, inside ofvestibule, 5 ft.; width over the posts, 8 ft.; height frombottom of sill to top of roof, 8 ft. 6 in.; height from railto underside of sill, 2 ft. 7% in.; truck centers, 23 ft. d%in.; wheel base of trucks, 4 ft. 9 in.; diameter of driverwheels, 34 in. and of pony wheels, 24 in. The thirteen windows in each side of the car body aredivided into two parts. The upper part is stationary andthe lower part is arranged to rise straight up 25^ in. be-
