Authentic 18th-19th century South Indian hardwood panel from traditional ceremonial chariot celebrated during Ratha Utchavam – Hindu temple festival associated with numerous temples of Shiva, Shakti and Vishnu across India. Around the 10th century, it emerged in Tamil Nadu in its mature and best-known expression in Chola bronzes. Wonderful auspicious ritual object for a collection.
