Now called the Jessie Unruh Office Building, the historic neoclassical building was opened in 1928 to provide needed office space for a growing state government. Just opposite is a twin structure, the State (now Stanley Mosk) Library and Courts Building. They frame the landmark California State Capitol building at the west end of Capitol Park.
