A worker removes some of the copper sheathing from the sternpost of the 44-gun sail frigate USS CONSTITUTION in a dry dock at the Charleston Memorial Shipyard. The ship is being prepared for its bicentennial celebration in 1997-1998. The CONSTITUTION was launched on October 21, 1797, and is the oldest ship remaining on the Navy List.
