Scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of spermatozoa passing through one of the duct passageways within the testis. The sperm head has a flattened pyriform shape and contains DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid). The neck connects the head to the midpiece which continues as the long tail or flagellum. The latter serves to propel the sperm by a whip-type movement. Magnification x2000 when printed at 10cm.
