German civilians from Schwarzenfeld dig graves for the reburial of 140 Hungarian, Russian, and Polish Jews exhumed from a mass grave near the town. The victims died while on an evacuation transport from the Flossenbuerg concentration like this were part of the Denazification process. This process was an attempt to rid Germany and Austria culture and society of nazi influence and ideology. A part of the process included confronting the public with the evidence of the crimes that were carried out in their area.
