The Charles Bridge (Czech: Karlův Most) is one of the most famous arched and historic bridges in Europe. It is located on the Vltava River in the center of Prague. Its construction began in 1357 under the auspices of King Charles IV. The bridge is 516 meters long and almost 10 meters wide, it is arched, it has 16 arches supported by 15 transverse pedestals. The bridge is decorated along its entire length with 30 statues and sculptures, most of which date back to 1700.
