The imposing "Peace on Earth" bronze sculpture by Jacques Lipchitz stands amid 280 dancing water fountains in the Music Center Plaza in downtown Los Angeles, California, USA. Rising to 29 feet ( meters), the 10-ton (10000-kilogram) artwork was dedicated in 1969 and is topped by a dove descending to earth with the spirit of peace. This is the largest sculpture created by the Lithuanian-born artist, who died in 1973. The round building behind it is the Mark Taper Forum, one of several venues of the Performing Arts Center of Los Angeles County, which is best known as the LA Music Center.
