Colorful merry-go-rounds line the path leading to Revere's historic Ducal Palace.

The Ducal Palace of Revere was erected at the behest of Ludovico III Gonzaga, lord of Mantua, to the design of architect Luca Fancelli, between 1444 and 1478, renovating the ancient medieval castle built by the people of Modena in 1125. With this construction, which housed the administration of the territories south of their duchy, the Gonzaga wanted to mark their ownership of lands often disputed by the Visconti, the lords of Milan. The palace stands on the Piazza Castello in front of it, which in late July and early August hosts a fair attracting many visitors not only from the surrounding area.
