MAYPORT, Fla. (March 24, 2017) Retired Capt. John Meserve (left) and retired Cmdr. Henry Dronzeck (right) read about the various Medal of Honor award recipients from the Battle of Iwo Jima while touring the Suribachi Room aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7). Meserve served as the executive officer of USS Iwo Jima (LPH-2) from 1984-1987 while Dronzeck served as the ship’s secretary and ship handler for Iwo Jima from 1963-1966.
