The last week saw no change of con- ditions at this market, so far as the amount of stock and demand were con- cerned. Carnations are still retailing at $2 per dozen. Boses are scarce and the prices continue high. The scarcity is due to the cloudy weather, according to reports. Sweet peas are arriving in good shape now. Daffodils, Roman hyacinths, narcissi, both yellow and white, violets and a few white hyacinths are to be had. Freesias are coming in in excellent shape and in large numbers. The first tulips came in last week. Tulips, potted daffodils, freesias, hya- cinths, primroses, cyclamens, ferns, cinerarias and begonias are the popular plants at this time. Funeral work keeps all florists on the jump. Various Notes. The Munk Floral Co. has been cutting fine sweet peas. Metzmaier & Son are cutting excel- lent carnations. T. J. Ludwig reports a good business in both cut flowers and plants. The Fifth Avenue Floral Co. reports a splendid business. The rose grower for this firm met with a painful accident last week, when the fingers of his left hand were smashed while he w^as work- ing on his Ford. The McKeller Flo
