The resulting spandrel spaces are-filled with a broken scroll andsmaller rosette. The gates to the Clarendon Printing Press havethe same motif, h\it the lock-rail panel is omitted, and the designof the upper panel is bi-symmetric as at Hampton Court. The semi- ?circular grill abo-v^e, though rich with acanthus leaves and festoons, isnearer to one at Drayton House than to Tijous Burleigh gates and grill is a curious frieze of four compressed quatre-.
