Kenneth Beard welcomes Soldiers of the North Carolina Army National Guard’s 1450th Transportation Company home at the end of their Demobilization Ceremony in Granite Falls, , after completing a yearlong deployment to Kuwait, May 14, 2016. The 1450th Transportation Company, composed primarily of heavy wheel transportation vehicles with the ability to provide a wide range of hauling capabilities ranging from containerized movement to hauling refrigerated or bulk water cargo, deployed in support of Operations Enduring Freedom, Inherent Resolve and Spartan Shield by providing critical transportation and convoy security for military host nation transportation assets in Kuwait and Iraq. The unit provided assistance and mentorship to host nation security forces in order to develop self-sufficient logistical strategies and operations as US forces prepare to withdraw.
