Type locality: On foot slopes, Hacienda de Cedros, Zacatecas, Mexico. Distribution: Central Mexico. According to F. E. Lloyd, for whom this species was named, it is known to the Mexi- cans as tasajo macho. We have had this plant in cultivation for several years, but it does not grow well under glass; these specimens have white areoles; no glochids are developed the first. FIG. 77.—Opuntia Iloydii.
