Already over 30 per centof the zinc ores of the United States are smelted in this district, and,with the construction of this proposed rolling mill, additional smeltingworks will be put in at Pittsburgh with sufficient capacity to handle everypound of zinc ore produced in Kansas, Missouri and Arkansas, whereover 60 per cent of the entire output of the United States is BEAUTIFUL SCENERY. Four railroad systems pass through Pittsburg, and twenty-twopassenger trains arrive daily. The city has all first-class improve-ments, three miles of vitrified brick streets and twenty-six miles ofbrick walks, gas and electric light, water works, and electric street carlines extending to the neighboring mining camps. 74 KANSAS.
