By theWater in Winter (a pair of two-panelled screens)by Takebayashi-Shuho was one of the very few pic-tures in which the blank space was well utilized. Before concluding, let me say that, judged bythis exhibition, the qualities which used to dis-tinguish the works of Kyoto artists from thoseof Tokyo are fast disappearing.
