(Feb. 13, 2017) In a video screen capture, Villanova University Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) Midshipman 1st Class Clayton Shepherd (center), from Ashburn, Va., participates in the annual Surface Warfare Officer Ship Selection via Google Hangouts with Navy Personnel Command Surface Warfare Assignments (PERS-41), Feb. 13. Shepherd selected the Arleigh Burke-class USS Higgins (DDG 76), homeported in San Diego. More than 250 NROTC midshipmen also participated in the ship selection via Google Hangout over three days, Feb. 13-15.
