ARABIAN GULF (March 18, 2019) The Cyclone-class coastal patrol ships USS Chinook (PC 9) and USS Whirlwind (PC 11) maneuver while taking part in a gunnery exercise. Chinook and Whirlwind are forward deployed to the 5th Fleet area of operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and the Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
