I have occasionally met with cases ofproptosis to such an extent as to occasion amorbid change upon the cornea, with a varicosestate of the vessels of the conjunctiva; and withothers, in which, although the cornea remainedclear, the vision was materially deranged, wherethe cause of the protrusion was altogether ob-scure, and the progress of the disease had beenso slow as to occupy a period of several years. In these cases both eyes are equally affected ;they are attended with a distressing degree ofdeformity, obtuse pain in the forehead, and other been thrown up on the sloughing of the cornea.
