Sgt. 1st Class G. Morper, of the American Coast Artillery, is seen here operating a French 340mm ( inch) gun. The gun, manned by 3098, is located near Mixeville, in the Meuse department of France. It fires shells over 30 kilometers, successfully hitting two German Army Corps Headquarters in Baleycourt Woods at approximately 3:20 PM. This photograph was taken on September 26, 1918, and completed clearance for release by Censor.
