Enough has been said to indicate the close and necessary con-nection between Impression and Expression. As we do notdeem it expedient to fill our purses with mutilated and spuriouscoins, so should we discriminate in the reception and retention ofonly those impressions which will enrich our own natures, andmay be expressive of sufficient value to circulate in the intel-lectual and moral world, where there is constant and mutualaction and reaction. But do we ever pause, even for a few moments, toconsider what some of these duties are? In our busy lives I amafraid we often allow our present daily duties and new intereststo push aside thoughts of the happy days gone by, when we wereschool girls, and the future was only a bright dream yet to berealized. Let us turn back to that important time when we were day has arrived, and with much pride andpleasure we perform our allotted task. The race is run, thegoal is reached, the prize is won, and we have our diplomas inour hands. Our college days are ended.
