May, Asst EXTRACTS FROM LETTERS OF MRS. MARY R. PERKINS. [Written while on a journey with missionaris.] Jeypar^ Jan. lO, iSgj.—We are still traveling north. To-day we made anovel journey to an old Mohammedan palace. Part of the journey was-made on elephants. The king of Jeypar allows his elephants to be used byvisitors. In the palace we saw the rooms on the housetop where the wivesof the former kings are kept. They were beautiful rooms ; the windowsv\rere latticed marble, so made that the women could look out without beingseen. I enjoyed the Bombay Conference of missionaries ; many vital pointswere discussed. I w^ish you could have seen the strong men and womengathered together.
