Eastman and Edison with a movie camera. US inventor, industrialist and photography pioneer George Eastman (left, 1854-1932) and US inventor Thomas Alva Edison (right, 1847-1931) in July 1928 with a motion picture camera at Eastman's house in Rochester, New York, USA. They were demonstrating the new Kodacolor film. Eastman, a keen amateur photographer, pioneered cheap cameras and set up the Kodak company. In 1889, Eastman used the first celluloid film, which paved the way for motion picture film. Edison, an early pioneer of motion film pictures, filed 1069 patents on his inventions, which included the electric light bulb, the phonograph, and microphones.
