Small hermit crab, Calcinus spec., in a raspberry coral, Pocillopora, from the Red Sea, Egypt.

The genus Calcinus contains small, very pretty colored species of hermit crabs, which are highly traded for aquariums. Hermit crabs have a soft abdomen, which they protect by using empty shells as home. If danger, such as potential predators, are close they can retract their entire body in the shell.
