He wasappointed assistant to President ofthe Pen;:sy]vfnia Railioad en Feb. 10,1897,, and this pcsition he still holdswith acceptance and ability. He mar-ried Eliza F. Denning of Harrisburg,Fa., and he has one son, WilliamWallace Postlethwaite, who is in busi-ness at Coiorado Springs, Edward Thomas Posllelhwaite 07 L CLARENCE E. POSTLETHWAITE Clareace E. Postlethwaite was boniAug. 19. 1865 in Mount Union, He at-tended the Mount Union publicschools from 1871 to 1878. It washere that his boyhood werespent and the recollections of thoseearly days are still held in preciousmemory to him. He moved to AI-toona with, the family- in 1878 andhe graduated from the public schoolsof Altoona on Msv 25,1883. Mr. Postle-thwaate entered the service of theP. R. R. in June, 1883 as a rodmanon an engineer corps. He learnedtelegraphy while going to school andearly in 1884 accepted a position astelegraph operator in Altoona Yard(Penua. R. R.) He was promoted tothe main telegraph office at Altoona^September, 1886. Following this hebecame clerk in the superintendentsoffice ill 1887. On .Ian. 1, 1890 he waspromoted to the position of car clerkof the Pennsylvania Railroad Divi-sion. , Mr. Postlethwaite married Char-lotte [-. Stratto
