Fungating breast cancer in a female patient

Fungating breast cancer in a 90 year old female patient. A fungating cancer is an advanced cancer where the tumour has broken through the skin's surface causing ulceration. Fungating tumours are rare. If they do develop they are more likely to happen with a skin cancer such as melanoma or breast cancer. Treatments that shrink the cancer may also reduce the wound and improve the symptoms. Common treatments include radiotherapy, chemotherapy and surgery.
