Light micrograph of trichomycosis in the armpit hair of a 65 year old white male patient. This is an infection of the hair with Corynebacterium sp. bacteria. The bacteria form a film (yellow) over the hair. It is usually asymptomatic. Treatment is with topical antiseptics or antibiotics.
