Provenance: "The Political Magazine and Parliamentary, Naval, Military and Literary Journal", printed for J. Bew, Paternoster Row, London. Type: Antique copperplate map. The accompanying text article, originally published with the map, will also be provided, entitled 'An account on the late Operations in North and South Carolina; General Leslie's Expedition to co-operate with Lord Cornwallis; and a list of the rebels taken up for acting as Spies, and giving intelligence to the Enemy'. Revolutionary War-era map, on which the battle fought between the armies of Generals Gates and Cornwallis at Camden in August 1780 is marked, in which the Americans under Gates were defeated by the British under Cornwallis. A detailed map of the Carolinas, filled with topographical notes and detail including towns, forts, plantations, courthouses, Quaker & other meeting houses & swamps. The map is scarce.
