The integuments of other species examined were not studied as critically as were those of the army worm, and consequently, some of the pores have certainly been over- looked, particularly the ones most difficult to be found. Some of the preparations had to be bleached with chlorine gas before they could be studied, but most of them were so light in color that it was difficult to find some of the pores, and the butterfly.
