Venus. Coloured radar map of a hemisphere of Venus centred on the prime meridian (0 degrees longitude). The map was created using data gathered by the Magellan radar-mapping spacecraft in 1990-94. The colours indicate the elevation of the surface relative to the mean planetary radius (6041 km). Blue colours denote land below the mean radius; land above the mean radius is coloured green, brown, pink and white (highest). Near the top of the frame is an upland 'continent' called Ishtar Terra. Just below centre is the upland Alpha Regio (pale brown); the centre of crater Eve to the south defines the planet's prime meridian.
