The Holy Chalice Chapel. Cathedral of Valencia. Spain
The Holy Chalice Chapel (built between 1356 - 1369) where the supposed Holy Grail is exhibited in the Cathedral of Valencia. Gothic Altar Piece by Antonio Dalmau y Julià Florentí (1441 - 1446). The Grial was gave to the Temple by Alfonso V of Aragón (aka Alfonso the Magnanimous), in 1437. This relic is a cup of calcedony of 7 cm. height by 9,5 cm. of diameter with base and handles added lately. Cientific studies have dated the cup around the 1st century and probably by an Antioch atelier. Metropolitan Basilica Cathedral of Saint Mary (Cathedral of Valencia). It's construction began in 1262, in Gothic style, over the ruins of the old arab Mosque. Valencia. Valencian Community. Spain
