U Birkenstraße U-Bahn station railway station serves U9 line opened on August 28, 1961, Moabit, Mitte, Berlin, Germany The station has an island platform with a central staircase leading to an entrance hall, which is decorated in light brown and dark grey colours. The interior walls and hexagonal supporting columns of the station are tiled in shades of green. The platform and the butterfly style ceiling are beige. This style ceiling is typical of the original G line. The western entrance was renovated in 2017 and the name of the station was installed above the staircase. On March 16, 2022, another exit with stairs and elevator went into operation at the northern end of the platform, making the station barrier-free. The entire station was renovated at this time using new tiles and mosaics based on the original colour scheme. The station is 530 meters from Berlin Westhafen train station and 675 meters from Turmstrasse U-bahn station
