Pittsburgh has certainly been having old-fashioned winter weather, and the last week brought samples of every- thing in that line one could think of— snow, zero and more snow. The weather bureau reports that we have had more snow, and it has lain longer, than in any winter since 1870. There has been a continued increase in the cut of flowers. Eoses, especially, have become more plentiful every day. The only stock of which there has been a real shortage is lilies, and the reason for the small supply of them is the un- usual amount of sunless weather, which prevented the new crop from coming fast enough to catch up with the storage bulbs, which are now done. It will probably be two weeks before we shall have the usual supply of these from
