Proboscis black. Antennie black, under side of 2nd joint yellow, under side of 3rd joint red at base. Thorax ash-grey, covered (with the seutellum also) with short black hairs : dorsum and seutellum in certain lights appearing black, except the humeral calli; sides of thorax also appearing partly black if viewed from diffen-nt directions. Abdomen mainly asii-grey, covered -with rather short black liair; fore part of most. Genitalia email, black, shining, luiiry. i^f/s black, pubescent ; coxae with silverv-white sheen in front; anterior femora yellow at base below, hind pair with more than the basal half yellow ; knees and base of tibiie narrowly yellow ; anterior metatarsi rather yellow. Wings with 1st posterior cell narrowly open ; 3rd vein bisinuate froui anterior cross-vein to wing-tip ; the wings are nearly clear, yellowish at base. Halterea yellow. Lairflh, 5 mm. Described from a single perfect specimen captured by me at Daijiling, 30. ix. 1908, and now in the Indian Museum. 295. Zodion griseum, sp. nov. (S 5 .
