The work of stringing trolley wires can be cheapened and sim-plified by using some such rigging as shown herewith. The reelof trolley wire is placed on a flat-car resting on A supports, whichare grounded. The flat-car containing the reel is pushed by some. SUGGESTION FOR STRINGING WIRE form of tower-car equipped with motors. The trolley wire isstrung out alive, the wire passing from the reel up over a standardon the flat-car, as shown. The method of procedure is of coursesimple. The motor car takes current from the live wire which it isstringing. The car is pushed to a trolley pole, and the uprightstandard on the flat-car brings the wire to the proper level forfastening to the pole brackets. The men on the tower car thenmake the necessary connections and the outfit proceeds to the nextpole. Some form of brake is required to govern the movements ofthe reel of wire, and a brake that will fill all needs cart be made ofa plank pivoted so that one end, which is provided with leatherfacings, will bear against the under side of the reel, while the otherend is weighted with scrap iron.
