Invasive grass species Spartina anglica on Hoylake beach

Spartina anglica is an invasive plant species that is rapidly colonising the foreshore from West Kirby to Meols on the Wirral peninsula. It has provoked much debate amongst the local community on whether or not it should be removed from the beach and the long sandy beaches kept grass-free for local residents and visitors to enjoy.
