PORT OF SUVA, Fiji (Oct. 16, 2018) Cmdr. Andy Strickland, commanding officer of Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Shoup (DDG 86), interviews with a member of the Fiji media on the flight deck during a recent port visit in Suva, Fiji Oct. 16, 2018. Shoup is currently participating in the Oceania Maritime Security Initiative (OMSI) program, a Secretary of Defense program leveraging Department of Defense assets transiting the region to increase the Coast Guard’s maritime domain awareness, ultimately supporting its maritime law enforcement operations in Oceania.
