A small, winged insect that has been caught by an oblong-leaved sundew, Drosera intermedia. The plant secretes sticky mucilage from glands on the ends of its tentacles, or stalks, which attract and trap small insects. The leaf then curls around the insect and enzymes digest it. Sundews are part of the family of carnivorous plants that absorb nutrients from their prey. The oblong-leaved sundew is also known as the spoonleaf sundew and spatulate-leaved sundew. these were found growing in peaty soil near heather and coniferous forestry. Dorset England UK GB.
