Moderately con- vex ; ears not very distinct from the shell; strong radiating striae, which grow larger towards the base, and are crossed by raised wavy plates (lamellae), giving to the sur- face a rough appearance, which is visible in \ the enlarged portion (littlefigures). The surface is marked by sharp concentric lines or lamellae, which give the shell a peculiar as- •fi iij/vpect. Found at Rockville, All. Co., N. Y. Aviculopecten striatus. {Pecten striatus.) Hall, 1843, page 264, fig. 119, 7. VIIIg. Chemung forma- tion. This species differs from all the others in its fine even radiating striae.
