Reverend Ivo Schacht, a Belgianpriest, a man full of zeal and spiritu-ality, was appointed EcclesiasticalSuperior of the Sisters of Charity ofNashville, Tenn. When the^ Sisters, atthe invitation of Bishop Miege,moved to Leavenworth, Kansas, in1858, Father Schacht visited them,and while in Kansas he exercised hisremarkable missionary zeal by goingout on horse-back to visit the scat-tered people of the plains.
