Fruits very dark and uniform but sometimes inclined to curve. Ohio MR 17 6 A new mosaic-tolerant pickling variety developed at the Ohio Experiment Station from crosses involving Chinese Long, Early Russian and National Association. Fruits closely resemble those of National Association, but are a little darker and longer. Highly, though not fully, resistant to mosaic, making good crops possible where mosaic is prevalent. PACKER, 6 Bred at our Pacific Coast breeding station to provide a pickling cucumber of National Association type but blockier in shape and more uniformly dark green in color. High yielding and gives a very attractive pack. Palmetto, 8 Developed by W. C. Barnes at Clemscn College, S. C, from a cross of Puerto Rico 40 x Cubit. Similar to Cubit but highly resistant to downy mildew. Producer, (Ssqmw) Vine exceptionally prolific; fruits of National Association type but lighter in color.
