Manager Purchasing Agent of the Twin CityRapid Transit Company SucceedsFoster Hannaford, Resigned William Whiteford, purchasing agentof the Twin City Rapid Transit Com-pany, Minneapolis, Minn., has been pro-moted to acting general manager of thesystem to fill the vacancy caused by theresignation of Foster Hannaford. Hayesresigned as purchasing agent of thecompany to become comptroller at theUniversity of Minnesota. The purchas-ing department was moved from thegeneral offices and consolidated with thestores department at the Snelling shops,Mr. Whiteford being placed in held this position until his recentappointment as acting general managerof the Twin City lines. He was amember of the board of arbitrationappointed to adjust the question ofwages of the employees of the St. PaulCity Railway. Mr. Whiteford was born in Ardrossan,Scotland, in 1880.
